Pastoral Dreamer 1.5X lifesize process
This video shows the current progress of the bronze sculpture Pastoral Dreamer (1.5X life-size). Wax is poured in each mold section three times at three different temperatures in order to achieve the best surface quality and the best wall thickness. This is called the lost wax process. As Phelps works through the process it will become aparent why it’s called the lost wax process.
The photos below show continued progress on the 1 ½ X life-size Pastoral Dreamer.
All wax sections are now poured and trimmed. Work is continuing to thicken areas of wax that are too thin as well as fixing surface imperfections.
